Unlike some celebrities who curiously say, “I don’t really like perfume, but I like this one” about their eponymous “clean smelling” scents, Taylor put together a glamorous whopper of a perfume. A perfume with Elizabeth Taylor's name was a major happening back in the day, and smelling my vintage bottle I have no doubt that a) Liz was definitely a perfume lover and user, b) she must have participated actively in its conception and c) she was determined to put Passion up there with Coco, Mystère, Poison and the other expensive best sellers. Have been wearing this for a long time, and every time I am asked what fragrance I am wearing, and constantly receive compliments. Ingredients wise, they are of good quality, perfectly blended to compliment a fur coat, a diamond necklace, a beautiful dress. Although today’s Passion is probably only a weak reflection of the perfume it used to be, it does intrigue me, and I’ll be on the watch for an old bottle to see if I can hear more of its orchestra (to mix in another metaphor).

This perfume is a dirty old style oriental which on my skin it is all about the musk, spices, woods and resins in the drydown. The flowers are blended so that not one stands out, apart from maybe the creamy tuberose but mostly gardenia.I'm surprised it's not considered to be unisex, surprised it's not in the animalic, leather group before anything.
