About this deal

For other decoration, I used fresh fruit such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and then a little sprinkling of freeze dried raspberries as well because they always make the best decoration. You may want to go all out and host a screening party on the day itself when the ceremony is on TV. Alternatively, you could hold a coronation party or street party on another day of the long weekend. Why not try making some bunting to string above the table, or make a small token for everyone attending your street party. Put your crafting skills to good use for a coronation tablescape fit for a king!” The baked goods, which will be available in Asda stores and online from 27 April to 18 May, include:

Sugar – I used caster sugar as I wanted the colour and flavour to stay light, but you an swap it to light brown soft sugar if you want a more caramel flavour naturally.I wanted to make a cake that really would suit making and serving for any celebrations for King Charles coronation, and this one is perfect. It’s easy, delicious, light and fun to make! It’s a showstopper, but still easy to serve. The Coronation We've rounded up the coronation-themed craft kits that are perfect for every skill level and craft interest. There are kits to make street party decorations for beginner crafters, ideas of projects to work on while you're watching the coronation ceremony, and longer and more complex makes with really breathtaking results. There are also loads of kids coronation kits, too, from favourites including Etsy and Baker Ross. Create professional looking decorations with just some folded coloured paper and twine. These paper fan decorations are the perfect craft project to make ahead of the coronation celebrations. Make big ones, small ones, layered ones or mini ones! I tend to use slightly more cake mix per portion compared to a cupcake, as I find they are slightly bigger than a cupcake. I use these mini loaf casesand they are just perfect. For the frosting, to fit the lemon theme a bit more, I did a lemon buttercream frosting. I love a light lemon buttercream, and when you make a super whipped buttercream frosting it is glorious.

Get ready to dust off your apron and start baking for King and country. It’s time to prepare for the Coronation of King Charles III and plan how you’ll be celebrating. These little beauties are cute, fun, and so easy to make. They are perfect for any street party or celebration for the coronation in a few weeks time, enjoy! Coronation

If, like us, you love to make things yourself, try these coronation crafts to add a special touch to the proceedings. We’ve got lots of inspiration for easy coronation decorations to create. They could also double up as a party activity for the King’s coronation if you have a crafty crowd heading to yours! As I wanted this to be slightly different to the other traybake recipes on my blog already, and I really wanted to make something light and delicious, I used whipped cream. This consists of double cream, icing sugar and a little vanilla to flavour the cream, whipped to peaks and then spread and piped on. Use red, white and blue, or whatever papers you have at home. It’s a great one for using up odd pieces of wrapping paper, too. Sift the flour and salt into the bowl, then fold it in gently using a large metal spoon. Do not beat the mixture at this stage. Add the milk and stir it through gently. I mix the cake mix like normal; beat the butter and sugar together, add the eggs and flour and lemon extract and mix, and then split between the cases. To be super neat, I used a piping bag, but you can obviously spoon the mix in as well.

Eggs – I used medium eggs, but if you have other sizes, weigh them in their shells and then match the other ingredients – get to as close to 400g as possible. And if you're planning a street party, why not make some decorations of your own? The coronation celebrations are the perfect opportunity to get crafty! Follow our step-by-step guides to make lovely coronation bunting (which doesn't require any sewing!) and paper fan decorations which will brighten up any tablescape. Plus, why not watch the coronation in style with one of our paper crowns fit for a king. Whichever colour theme you choose, bunting is the quintessential coronation party decoration. It’s great for decorating indoor and outdoor spaces, plus it’s easy enough to make your own from fabric ( watch our no-sew coronation bunting video) or create paper bunting for the big day. Paper chains are also super easy to make when it comes to coronation party ideas and a great way to get kids involved with the prep.
