Description

This is genuinely an Adult romance and once things got going between them, holyyyyy hell was it ever H. the only thing I didn't love was the ending; some of the things that happen at the end are mildly unbelievable. He’s so used to isolating himself and being on his own that letting people in was hard for him… until he met Bree Prescott and his world changed.

Mia Sheridan's ability to convey strong emotions and vivid imagery through her writing is absolutely captivating. Will Archer find happiness and trust and will Bree and Archer be able to banish their demons once and for all? You do not have to read any other book before this and it has a complete resolved ending that beautifully wraps up this entire story. and funny story, when i was rereading this, i manifested for a Travis book because, ya know, i have a thing for villains with redemption arcs because why not right?Bree leaves her hometown of Cincinnati Ohio (which just happens to be MY hometown ;)) to head to the small lakeside town of Pelion Maine. It is not too drama or action filled, the plot stays balanced out, the characters are likable and even relatable, and the romance is warm, sweet, and soft all around.

p A Goodread's "Top Romance Novel of All Time" br A i New York Times i , i USA Today i , and i Wall Street Journal bestseller b p I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. Or is this book secretly one of those overhyped social media sensations that only rely on impact and stray quotes, and I've been fine all along? This was a roller coaster of emotions, everything from happiness and giddiness to anger and sadness. When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. Things we take for granted were totally new and a huge deal for Archer, and I loved witnessing him discovering the real world.I'm actually kind of surprised she didn't try harder, considering how she had a "feeling of loss" when Archer walked away from her THE FIRST TIME THEY MET. Bree too went through horrible stuff that no one should and Archer helped her to get back on her life and fight her demons. The people of Pelion mostly ignore him, sometimes they whisper and he just keeps his head down and avoids the world outside of his home grounds as much as possible. Bree is running away from her past and problems to a small town, that same town that Archer had his own trauma. All they know about him is the accident that happened when he was just a kid, and all they can do is assume he's deaf.

But Bree doesn’t see Archer as everyone else does—a person who can’t communicate, is heartless, and does not show emotion. I don't remember if it was mentioned before that moment that her father was deaf, but I felt like it was a coincidence so impossible I had to stop my eyes from rolling to the back of my head, because, come on? With the friendship and love Archer and Bree are developing, there is also some drama and suspense going on in the background. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. If you find yourself thinking oh, how convenient more than once or twice in a story, it's probably all too convenient. This was perfect really because it allowed us to follow her story while still connecting emotionally to Archer. The book is well paced, the characters are well developed, the surrounding cast all play their parts and everything just comes together perfectly. He smiled back and put his lips against mine, mouthing, I love you, too, as if he were breathing love into my body. I stared at those creases as if they were twin unicorns that he'd been hiding from me under his beard.Dealing with phobias is really difficult, and sometimes, you can get lucky and have someone special that takes that pain away. there were so many some cringy scenes for sure, sentences where i shook my head and wished they wouldn’t have said that buuut it’s still a good book nonetheless.
