Its always a pleasure to be capturing Bryngarw House for a wedding, even more so when you have such an amazing couple like Samantha & Richard who’s wedding we shot on the weekend. Having covered Richards brothers wedding a few years ago in Bridgend, it was a fantastic honor to come back for the family to shoot a location i know very well. When they were looking for Bryngarw House wedding photography south wales, we were glad we were the first call and luckily had the date of their wedding day free.
The day started with bridal prep with Sam and her bridesmaids at Bryngarw house, with some bubbly supplied by Ash and Laura going down rather well. Hair and makeup was completed just in time to get the stunning wedding dress on, after we had taken details shots of the dress hung in a stunning bay window and taken the custom made wedding shoes accompanied by the amazing Scottish themed bouquet, it was time to get ready and head towards St Marys Roman Catholic chuch in Bridgend for the service.
Our Second photographer was already there capturing the groom and groomsmen (even if they did only turn up a few minutes before the bride…) and boy did the bride arrive in style…a convertible classic Mustang from the 1960s! Sam looked beautiful being walked down the aisle by her 8 year old sister, Led by the amazing matthew bartlett bagpiper which certainly got the goosebumps going! Richard tried to look forward as much as he could before his curiosity got the better of him and he had to look. Im sure he will say a bit of dust got in his eye…but we all know the truth 😉
The service was fantastic from Father Tim. Such a modern outlook on how a relgious service should be run, and IMO would encourage more people to get married in church, and wow what a church St Marys is. A modern wooden beamed structure with beautiful natural light, it really gave a glorious backdrop for the start of married life as husband and wife.
After the signing of the register, and a few more prays for the couple, it was time for the slow walk down the aisle, again led Matthew the bagpiper, although the heavy rain put paid to us doing any shots outside the church. Once back at Bryngarw house the sun was shining for the happy couple and we got some stunning photos of them with the mustang on the drive and onto the group photos before another rain shower came! As a professional wedding photographer in south wales, you are always looking for the weather and what its doing. We managed to get outside inbetween rain showers and got some stunning photos in the grounds of Bryngarw house and park.
After the AMAZING speeches it was a little more relaxed photos of guests enjoying themselves and onto the big suprise…fireworks! i can honestly say it was one of the best displays at a wedding i have ever seen! after a round trip of 8 hours for the company from preston it was well worth it!
a huge congratulations to the bride and groom and thank you so much for letting us be part of your day. We wish you all the happiness for now and the future
