wedding photography old rectory
we recently covered the wedding of Amy & Neil at the old rectory in Llangattock. we met the couple at a wedding fayre last year and instantly hit it off. They had such great and original ideas for their wedding we knew that the photos would be fantastic. Wedding photography old rectory is fun at the best of times, we knew this was going to be even better.
Amy was having her hair and makeup applied by the talented anna williams wedding hair and amie phillips from compliment your beauty. The bridal suit at the old rectory is the perfect room for getting ready, it offers some lovely exposed beams and great natural light to show off the bride even better.
we got some lovely shots of amy’s dress hung on the beams of the room, aswel as lots of details like the wedding bouquet and shoes. Before the service we used the natural light in the room to get some beautiful shots of Amy before the short walk down the stairs to meet her future husband.
Amy made a beautiful entrance into the ceremony room at the old rectory. Neil’s smile said it all as he saw her for the first time. It was a lovely service carried out by powys registrars, and we were so glad the rain finally stopped just as they said i do.
After the service and the welcome drinks, it was time for the group photos. Due to the heavy rain in the morning we decided to go to plan b and get these done on the tarmac. Getting up so high means you can see every guest in the photo…no hiding places for anyone! All the guests were in good spirits despite the rush to get the group shots done just incase the rain returned…it didn’t! we were left with a beautiful sunny afternoon for everyone to enjoy themselves, including some fantastic shots of Amy & Neil around the bottom of the golf course.
After the food and speeches the sunshine was just coming to an end, so we managed to get amy and neil out for a few more photos, this time at the top of the golf course. The top of the hill offers spectacular panoramic views of the Usk valley, including the sugar loaf mountain and table top mountain. After the start to the day, it was so nice to get some blue sky and sunshine! Amy and Neil were so much fun to shoot, and this was my personal highlight of the day (despite the bite from a bug, amy needing a wee, the stinging nettles, the brambles and finding out liverpool had won!)
My favourite shot of the day was lying in the wet grass to get the perfect shot of the happy couple with a beautiful blue sky behind them. my suit can be cleaned, that photo will be with the bride and groom for the rest of their lives, so much so its not only one of my favourite shots of the day, but one of the best of the year!
Amy and Neil thank you so much for letting us be part of your special day. it was a pleasure from start to finish, the meetings to the day itself and we can’t wait for you to view the images soon. You are such a loving and friendly couple and even though Neil is a Liverpool fan, he is a top bloke. we wish you all the happiness in the world and we shall see you soon
