last week saw us cover the wedding of Claire & Delmi at the stunning Three Salmons Hotel in Usk, South Wales. We have driven past this stunning venue many times covering weddings in the area, but never had chance to shoot a wedding here until now. When the bride and groom were looking for a Three Salmons wedding photographer South Wales, we were only to delighted to.
Starting with Bridal prep in the bridal suit of the Three Salmons hotel, we soon started taking detail shots of the wedding shoes, wedding bouquet and the stunning wedding dress with bridesmaid dresses hung off the 4 poster bed. We like to try and help relax the bride during the mornings so talking is important, taking there mind off things and more importantly getting those natural smiles.
Our second photographer was with Delmi downstairs getting photos of the groom and groomsmen before the service, as its hard to replicate that nervous glint in the eye afterwards, but Delmi was very relaxed and cracking lots of jokes with the bestmen.
A short service, chosen by the bride and groom, was completed by Usk Registry office in the downstairs room of the Three Salmons hotel, a lovely room lit with beautiful natural light from 2 sides and large windows. Claire looked amazing walking down the aisle, supported by her wonderful bridesmaids, flower girls and son.
After the service we were a little concerned the weather wouldn’t hold out for group shots and formal shots of the bride and groom…we didn’t need to worry, the sun was shining for us all as we took full advantage, first covering the group shots at the hotel before going to the amazing Llancayo Windmill once again to get some shots with it in the background. We wanted to make the most of the stunning sunshine before the rain came in, so we took the bride and groom for a bit of a walk around the grounds and had some fun capturing there first hour or so of married life.
After the stunning wedding breakfast at the Three salmons hotel (and it really was one of the best wedding breakfasts we had EVER had here at Treasured Photography) we had a treat of some very emotion speeches from those closest to the bride and groom. Claire & Delmi trusted my judgement to go for a quick walk to the bridge over the river usk (im sure we could turn that into a film…???) to finish off the portrait shots. Ever the artist, Matt was trying not to get run over as he was stopping the traffic to get the perfect shot, walking in the middle of the road and even getting the bride and groom to do the same for a few seconds just to get “that” shot. Matt had spotted some shots that he wanted to capture enroute to the bridge and we managed to get all of them in a short 20 min period before a huge rain storm came, that always makes for a good backdrop to any wedding shot.
Once the formal shots were complete we took the bridesmaids outside to get some individual portrait shots, and then finished off doing some last minute group shots before setting up ready for the first dance. Our second photographer had been running our very popular pop up photography studio (similar to a photobooth but much bigger and better.
Thank you once again for letting us be part of your big day. Its always such a privileged to be asked to capture a part of your history. We wish you all the best for you and your family and enjoy married life.
