Wedding photography in south wales
We first met Karen & Chris last year when they came into book us after being recommened for a friend when they were looking for wedding photography in south wales. We got on really well at the meeting and have met them a few times since and its always been so easy chatting to them, we were really looking forward to the wedding. They had decided to book Treasured Photography all day, with two photographers and our famous photobooth included in the evening.
the wedding day
On the day we got to Karen a few hours before the service and she was incredibly calm. We chatted for ages waiting for her bridesmaids to return from the hairdressers and it was great to get some little details of the bridal prep done in such a quiet stress-free environment. As the hairdressers and makeup artists had long gone before we got there, we decided to do some fake shots using one of the bridesmaids, which always look so fantastic as we can make the most of natural light.
We are lucky enough that we have covered many weddings in and around the Brynmawr area, being based near here we are on first name terms with all the local vicars, so it was a pleasure to work with Sheryl once again. Karen arrived with her Father in a limo, where her bridesmaids were waiting for her at the gate. They all made the grand entrance, but even Chris couldnt fight back the tears as he saw his beautiful bride for the very first time. They had some lovely readings during the service, read by close family and friends, which really added the personal touch to the wedding.
After the service we organised for the group shots to be done at the church before whisking the bride and groom off for a tour of Blaina for some wedding photos. Having known the area for some years now (living here really does help!) i did ask the bride if we could make a de-tour to Cwmcelyn pond for some photos on the bridge, this was very last minute and only organised due to the amazing light that was on it from the weather.
the wedding photos from this was well worth the short trip! to add to the images, we also stopped off at the local cricket pitch to get some amazing photos in the glorious sunshine. There is a small park next to it so obviously we had to use that to! i think the images from this speak for themselves…
After the wonderful food had been served at Nantyglo rugby club, we were asked by one or two guests for some images as the sun was setting…and are we glad we went out. I think we ended up taking photos of everyone at the wedding with the bride and groom, and the flower girl Willow stole the show hiding under the netting of Karens wedding dress. We decided that was that and we went in…but i had kept an eye on the sunset as it looked like it was really going to kick off…being a landscape photographer we can sniff out a good sunset an hour before they happen!
so…we decided to grab the bride and groom one last time…and boy oh boy we were in for a treat. The sunset was magical, and really helped to end a perfect day for the happy couple. Using the magic of off camera flash (and one of the bridesmaids as a lightstand, thanks Bethan) we created some wonderful memories that will last a life time
Thank you so much for letting us be part of your special day, and we cant wait to see you again soon to show off all the images. Good luck for the future from all of us here at Treasured Photography
