Description

The Theragun Pro comes with two removable batteries – each capable of lasting 2.5 hours on a single charge – and can apply the strongest force of the four at up to 60lb of pressure. It also comes with six attachments, including a SuperSoft attachment that you don’t get by default with any of the other units. The massage gun has five different speed settings ranging from 1750 to 2400 PPM (Percussions Per Minute) – this indicates the number of times the device pulses – so you should be able to find a speed setting and attachment to suit any muscle area you want to treat. Our experts at the MH Lab tested the mettle of the best massage guns on the market. And, as the list below shows, they were more than up to the challenge.

It's the definition of simple. Just point the gun at your fleshy target – around an inch away from your skin over whichever muscle you’re trying to loosen or warm up – and hit the trigger for instant relief. Each massage gun was trialled for a three-week period, used to prime and relieve our experts' muscles around their fitness-filled schedule of weightlifting, HIIT, running, yoga and more. It still takes little pressure to stall the motor. We estimate it’s at, or perhaps even below, 20lbs at the third gear. For the initial two gears, the stall force is little. While we don’t expect a mini device to have a monster stall force, having very little has its downsides. But isn’t the new Theragun mini just a smaller variation of mini 1? Indeed it is; you’ll still have problems holding it for longer. The Therabody app has recently been launched and mainly functions as a library of routines you can follow using your Theragun device. Some models can even connect to the app using Bluetooth, not the mini, though, but you can still follow the 'protocols' – as the app puts it – manually.

Having compared it with other mini devices in the market, we found the current price point to be steep, making it likely the most expensive mini device out there. The weight has been reduced by 25%, down from 1.45 pounds to 1.1 pounds. We did the measuring with the ball head attached. This is a significant reduction for a mini massage gun. It basically went from heavy to light in terms of weight category.
