The Baby Birds organic pram mattress are our very own chemical free range of baby pram carry cot mattresses. They have a removable cover which is machine washable. Organic – the definition of organic in this case means that the mattress is produced or any aspect of production without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides, or other artificial chemicals. With instructions, the system is easy to set up (albeit time consuming) and interchanging between all the different options is effortless. The chairs are roomy and comfortable, and neither the car seat nor the travel system (as a whole) is too heavy. Probably). It is well documented that chemicals used in foam mattresses can cause irritation of the eyes, nose, throat, and skin. So Baby Birds have produced their own range of chemical free baby mattresses. In a nutshell: so far, so good. The Ooba looks fantastic, is a pleasure to push and does the job. Full marks. The seat is incredibly comfy and the straps easy to do up, a must when you’re wearing gloves/have cold hands/a wriggly toddler. Because Hux is a stubborn thing and doesn’t like to sleep when he’s in the pram (he prefers to grumble annoyingly because Mama is trying on yet another pair of jeans) we haven’t tested the recline capability so much, but Elfie loves to ‘pretend’ with it.

At the end of the dropdown we have listed our template range – they are made to measure as the mattress is a bespoke size. So when Cosatto got in touch a couple of months ago to ask if I’d want to sample their new model, the Ooba, I was a little hesitant. Could it improve on what were my two totally adequate prams? Turned out that yes, yes it absolutely could. So, first impressions? Like I said, this is a looker of a pram. If it were a man it would be a Bradley Cooper. The Cosatto brand has become synonymous with creative, bouncy, colourful design lifting their products onto a different plane from most other brands out there. Whats good?

The Cosatto Ooba Travel Systemis suitable from birth, and features new multi-terrain wheels and a lightweight aluminium chassis. When you baby reaches 6 months of age, transform the travel system into a pushchair with the seat unit, which can be either inward or outward facing, and boasts a multi-position recline and leg rest for comfortable travelling. The harness is 5 point with crotch and chest protectors. It is simple to adjust and you can do it up one side at a time, one handed, which is great when trying to deal with a reluctant child. There are 2 positions for the shoulder straps which can be altered via the rear zipped access panel.
