AMTECH VS-213-A-TF is a universal halogen free tacky flux suitable for both lead-free and tin-lead applications.

The Chip Quik SMD291 is okay and is more readily available from reputable dealers than the Amtech outside of the US. Sceptical at first we mentioned we have already tried hundreds of both solder and flux and happy that I have the best. I've always found this chinese "amtech" stuff to be pretty good, but of course there's no assurance that one batch is the same as the next.Use rosin cored solder, which is widely available in the EU and avoid using old components and oxidised boards.
