Enjoy great tracks such as the title track 'Californication', 'Other side' and many more, all offered in the crisp sound that can only be achieved on an old-school LP. That's about it really, aside from some light EQ improvement which just could be the difference between my analog rig and my digital rig. I dream of a day when this is reissued, digitally or otherwise, without the awful EQ choices, squished dynamics, and narrowed stereo image.

I have downloaded/ purchased the album anyway, but I really enjoy listening to my favorite music on my new turntable and I really would love for Warner Bros.Edit - This is actually the 2020 repress although the listing says it's the 2012 reissue (mine just came in the mail).

It’s not as bad in quieter tracks like Californication but harder tracks like Around The World and Parallel Universe sound like dog shit. It's a welcome reunion: Frusciante's playing, in particular - tight, yet lyrical - fits these songs like a second skin, lending them a sensual sort of ease that is perfectly in keeping with the reckless hedonism of their lyrics. The LP just isn't on the same level as something like "Unlimited Love," which sounds truly incredible on vinyl. This is not acceptable, this poor quality vinyl must be taken off the sales; the music company ought to produce a decent product so that RHCP fans can listen to this awesome album.It sounds great and i think over the years other reissues have been added to this listing as variants and they don't belong.

How pathetic that after almost 1/4 of a century after its release, a fan-made remix is still the best way to hear this masterpiece of an album.Can’t understand why the recording is compressed to hell and their previous and future releases weren’t. All in all you say that Californication is a comeback album of a special kind and truly in the vein of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Then again, it also sounds decent on CD, as it isn't clipped to death - compressed and limited yes, but listenable! Personalised advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of information under California and other state privacy laws, and you may have a right to opt out.

The songs themselves are much the same mixture of adrenalised swagger and high-tensile funk as ever. This bootleg version doesn't have the shrill EQ and completely squished compression/limiting found on both the CD and LP.
