About this deal

UK series, comprising: compact discs (CD), magnetic audio cassettes (AC), vinyl ( LP), VHS tape, DVD, and on other short-lived formats. Through the release of Now 90 on 30 March 2015, the release date in Ireland was three days before the UK release. The year 1984 followed, but after this, the series rewound its year of focus, issuing collections that went from 1982 and backwards into the late 1970s. The inaugural album graced the United Kingdom's music scene in 1983, with the United States following suit in 1998.

While the Hits team at CBS and WEA put out their fourth instalment in March 1986, the subsequent months were quiet with no Now Dance or new entrants into the market. The sleeve and inner labels make no reference to the track; it appears right after Side 3, track 8 [Simply Red’s strong slow set mainstayer Holding Back The Years].I reckon in another world the Queen track would have opened the album rather than being tagged on at the end of a side. The Now Yearbook series also releases a vinyl selection of its primary release, with an Extra round-up vinyl boxset featuring tracks from the CD-only series, released at the end of 2022. The only way to hear the early Nows on CD is to rip a near-mint vinyl copy [there’s still a few out there]. Accordingly there’s quite a few songs that could have been considered or even featured on an extra compilation.

Queen had already appeared on volumes 2, 3, 4, 6 and the Christmas album so it was expected that A Kind Of Magic would feature on Now 7. Storch ( producer) publisher: Aint Nuthin' Goin'On But F****' Music, Blackjack Entertainment, Blondie Rockwell Publishing, Dead Game Publishing, Elvismambo Music, Fivecard, Music of Windswept, Scott Storch Music, TVT ( copyright holder, no releases here please) and WB Music Corp. The 4-CD series follows the same general format of the original Special Editions series, with genre, era, and decade collections, but over four compact discs (there is also an abridged vinyl version of Punk and New Wave and Rock), meaning they contain more tracks than the original special editions, but fewer than the Now 100 Hits, which preceded this series. on 24 July 2015, the release dates in the UK and Ireland have been the same following the announcement of the Global Release Day campaign by IFPI, which became effective on 10 July 2015. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 621,000 copies in its first week, the highest opening week of sales for any U.From 2003, and until 2010, there was one special edition released each year, covering a decade (80s, 90s and 00s), or a cross section of big hits celebrating the Now series ( Now Decades, Now Years, Now Dance) - however, from 2011, they became much more frequent, and in 2017, there were fifteen different titles released.

This effectively meant that Now 7 had the pick of about 22 or 23 weeks’ worth of chart hits; a nice wide net to fish from but this inevitably resulted in some major omissions. According to our music teacher at the time, they had compiled the album and had all the sleeves and inlay cards pressed, when Queen stepped forward and said: “Hang on! assistant recording engineer: Bill Kinsley and Monique Mizrahi recording engineer: Ron Aniello, Neal Avron ( American engineer) and Jim Scott ( US recording engineer and producer) additional engineer: Bob Kearny and Marc Greene ( engineer) assistant engineer: Paul Hayden ( engineer) producer: Ron Aniello assistant mixer: Carl Egsieker and Ryan Williams ( US recording engineer/producer) mixer: Brendan O’Brien ( engineer) additional double bass [string bass]: John Leftwhich ( Jazz bassist) bass guitar: Sergio Andrade drums (drum set): Diff guitar and lead vocals: Jason Wade phonographic copyright (℗) by: Geffen Records(in 2000) and SKG Music L. Great blog though, as I’ve been going through my old 80s compilations recently, this is essential reading for me.The original Now Dance series began in 1985 and has been released in a variety of titles, formats, and release frequency. The Yearbook series are 4-CD and 3-LP vinyl sets, each representing a year of music, which launched in June 2021. The tie-in television programmes are a month by month video playlist of tracks, from one year previously featured on a Now Yearbook album, with Bruno Brookes presenting. I really don't know how they can pretend that they're the same albums because they aren't (unless it's buried in the small print). Simple Minds and Billy Ocean both appear in shorter edits that have appeared in the intervening years.

Given that the Queen track was obviously only cleared after the sleeves had gone to press, I wonder why they decided where to put it in the sequence? and has a ridge around the edge of the labels, this issue has smooth labels with no ridge around the and was pressed by EMI Records. Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait: Great synth riff, more on which later as it was sampled in a track on a later Now!They all vary from one to five disc compilations (occasionally six disc), starting in 1986 and continuing to the present day (Jan 2023). November 2023) 33 tracks with only Kate Bush and Lil Louis missing, although Lil Louis was just a bonus track on the original CD version and did not appear on the vinyl and magnetic cassette versions. Released in association with the Official Chart Company to "celebrate 70 years of the official UK singles chart".
