About this deal

Codes I've been getting: P179A / P0235 / P0190 / P2291 not had a starting problem limp mode varies at engine start to 20 miles not been able to check injectors waiting for tool to arrive going out to start engine see if it comes on. First time around the garage tried to charge me for a new EGR valve and for good measure new glo plugs.

Yes, that is connected to the fuse number1 (behind panel near drivers knee, top left 10amp) You will get a flashing hold light if the fuse has blown, or if the fuse isn't making proper contact. times in the last 8 years here a GP light was triggered by a burnt out bulb that cold diagnosis didn't prompt.Come join the discussion about performance, modifications, classifieds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more! Saturday still looking for loose /dirty connections what ever it is must have got worse as flashing glow plug light now every time I start the engine cant clear it engine warning constant also ABS but waiting for sensor for that . In that 20 mins in which the car was doing the regen, the exhaust temperature may not have reached 600 degrees in the DPF (due to the way in which the car was being driven) and so the fall in saturation may have been 0.

I`ve just found something in the manual (I was looking for info on changing bulbs believe it or not) and it explains how to clear air from the system and stop the glow plug light flashing and guess what. Yesterday I plugged my phone charger into the outlet and noticed that it was pulsing on and off in a patern every 4 seconds and the lite started flashing in the same rhythm.

So it's possible something like the Turbo Actuator, EGR valve, Injectors or fuel leak could be the cause. Just started having the same problem with mine (96 Quattro 170 tdi - 51k) Got a local garage to do a code check and got 12600 - Intake Manifold and P3138 - MIL On (i think this is just warning light). Nope, it's the glowplug light, had that one myself when my LB died, easy one to check before going down the diagnostics route.

I'm sure that someone with more experience than me (I'm still learning everyday) will be along soon to assist further.

The DPF cleaners (fuel additives) contain catalysts that will help in both passive and active regeneration as they increase exhaust gas temperature during normal running.

Coil/sparkplug/engine management light comes on and the car goes into limp home mode, this started after I put petrol in it and drive it for 2 mins, it has since been flushed and cleaned (nothing replaced) but I'm now having this problem.I don't want them to take piss and try an tell me it's nothing to avoid having to fix it, I know exactly how to get the light back on if it goes off though, does anyone have any idea on what it could be?
