About this deal

This became popular around when I was in middle school, and I can distinctly remember spraying it on myself anytime I went to the mall. I think this is a potential signature scent as there is nothing else like it and it's instantly recognisable - I also find it very modern (really, it's v un-gramdma like!

In theory, this is an absolutely stunning fragrance — lush jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, some faint woods. Hands down, Amarige has been in my top 3 fragrances for the last two decades and it's still one of my best contenders. Givenchy Amarige is a strong white floral perfume that centres around a soft and alluring bouquet of yellow and white flowers, for a unique experience. I’m in my mid twenties but have always had a really strong connection to the 90s and am the youngest of 7 kids, some now turning 40.Top notes are Orange Blossom, Peach, Plum, Neroli, Brazilian Rosewood, Mandarin Orange and Violet; middle notes are Tuberose, Mimosa, Gardenia, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Black locust, Carnation, Red Berries, Black Currant, Cassia, Rose and Orchid; base notes are Sandalwood, Woody Notes, Amber, Vanilla, Musk, Tonka Bean and Cedar. I'm certain that I've smelt Amarige along with Kenzo Jungle L'Elephant on someone's mother during my childhood in the 90s so it brings comfort and happy memories. Amarige is great in small quantities and I do absolutely love it on paper, but the trick is to expose yourself to it for a couple of hours max and once a month. For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates. There is a chapter written about this fragrance so i went ahead and bought it just because i felt like i had to being a perfume junky.

As soon as I smell it I think about her lit up mirror with those round bulbs and the smell of her makeup in her drawers. Sure, if your grandma is Eva Herzigova in satin (in the daytime), has never baked a cake in her life (no vanilla gourmand for this bitch), and gifts you a solo trip to Paris for Christmas. Givenchy Amarige Eau de Toilette - Amarige was born with an out of the ordinary idea: the anagram of 'Mariage'.I still remember their perfectly over-lined plum lips and giant helmeted coiffures, held in place by ozone depleting gallons of hairspray - probably Paul Mitchell.

Very different from today, where the designer is no longer in charge and only perform franchises and generics.

Amarige for sure is a juicy, syrupy and honeyed white and yellow flower concotion for the eternal goddess in all of us. It is now the coldest, driest time of year where I live and I suspect you could be smothered nearly to death trying to wear this in the summer, though I think it could be done if applied with care. The drydown is a soft feminine musk w/ the big florals and fruits still making their show all the way to the end. The top notes are composed of fresh fruit: peach, plum, orange, mandarin, with the sweetness of rose wood and neroli. I wore it loads throughout my A-levels, going out to pubs and nightclubs and parties, falling in love and generally having a fabulous time.

This perfume has wonderful projection and sillage, I have only had compliments and women swearing to purchase a bottle when I tell them what it is. It’s sweet and fresh and real, not like synthetic florals but as if I’ve just stuck my head into some real life Tuberose flowers… and then the peach!

I do need to spray a bit heavier and reapply once or twice in colder weather when I’m wearing heavy clothing, but once I get a scent bubble going, it lasts longer. You could seriously get through the day with one or two big sprays, walkthrough, and you will smell beautiful for 10 hours. I had seem such wonderful reviews about it time and time again, and went to test some at my local House of Fraser's out of curiosity.
