About this deal

It is still vaguely sweet and somewhat pleasant, but the saltiness stings my nose and gives me a bit of a headache. It's a great addition to the line and is a good follow-up to Light Blue Forever and Italian Love which both have WAY too much grapefruit and stray from the original DNA.

This fragrance is a true elixir, capable of invigorating the senses and inspiring confidence and sophistication.People really need to get their noses checked, and this is coming from someone who still recognizes scents since when he was a toddler. The opening of Eau Intense starts off quite similar to the original, in many ways, but also as a standalone fragrance. To me, the strength of the juniper and the woody notes really help to separate this version from the original.

The opening is a bit harsh and smells a little pungent, but it evolves on the drydown into a beautifully classic woody aquatic musky scent. I will wear it on its own and layer it with some of my fragrances depending on how I feel on the day. Personally, it smells like a fruity hospital, but after a while that theme starts to die down into this pleasant grapefruit note. I will see the performance when the heat will go up: I think it will do very well on hot Italian summers, when you only want to smell fresh (and everything smells heavy and cloying). Differences arent that huge but they are done slightly on the specific notes to make a noticable difference.

In reality, the sillage that makes it to my nose lasts about 2 hours tops, otherwise I need to sniff a few inches away from where I sprayed to pick anything up for that last hour. Smells great, but at this point Light Blue is simply too familiar to my nose - from both myself and others around me wearing the original often.I wear Light Blue Forever more than I wear this, it just feels more freshing with less of a sweet finish that compliments African summers more. On contrary, one can argue that it smells exactly like the marina breeze, walking between sailboats and yachts smelling that stale, seaweedy, humid scent filling the air. This fragrance isn't pretending to be natural and the perfumer clearly was going for a happy vibe with this one. It’s a very good aquatic, that delivers a pleasant smell, and does a fine job at not quitting early.

The performance isn't fantastic, which is perfect for Summer, but it quickly fades in more mild weather. This has got the bubble-blowing soap scent that Bleu de Chanel has (to me) but quite a bit sweeter, even more so that the EDP. most of them starts off with good intentions then their audience grow up and they reveal their dark facets after a little while.

May be this will perform in milder weather conditions with the sun out where temperature spans between 20 to 25 celcius tops. I'm more of a sweet-fresh summer cologne type of guy so although i do like this it wouldn't be my favorite summer fragrance. I had a friend that would wear this even in winter and the smell would mix with the jacket and it smelled so pungent, probably had to do with the sulfur-like smell people describe. The presentation is great too-the bottle is iconic yet subtle and the box it comes in is really unique as far as most frags go. I love the bottle with the lovely blue coloured top and the blue looking fragrance itself looks great on your display.
