At just over 3 hours, Babylon is Damien Chazelle's ode to Hollywood that sits beside Sam Mendes' Empire of Light and Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans, which are two similarly themed films out this month, (anyone would think it was awards season), but this is an entirely different beast to both. From Damien Chazelle, BABYLON is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart.But, the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray features a gorgeous Dolby Vision transfer and an incredible Atmos audio track.

Hell, even the sound of a champagne bottle entering someone is given a distinct pin-point placed effect! The film just never really comes together only for the entire thing to be upstaged by a delightfully unhinged performance from Tobey Maguire. A film about Hollywood excess is itself a prime example of Hollywood excess with Damien Chazelle’s Babylon.
