There are 128 cab memory slots to save all of your presets, and three configurable post-EQs: guitar, bass and parametric. There are settings for Gain and Attentuation, Q value, Low and High Pass filtering for the EQ controls. The following mentioned manufacturers are trademarked, they are only for your reference in comparing performance and tone. None of the mentioned trademarked names has anything to do with Joyo or software contained in the Joyo Cab Box. I've not yet tried the XLR balanced out nor the MIDI in. I regret the absence of any explanation regarding MIDI settings. fully configurable post s for guitar, bass & parametric. With settings for Gain & Attentuation, Q value, Low & High Pass filtering. The 5 band is fully customisable, setting the 5 bands from 80hz to 11khz and level adjustments as required for each.

The JOYO Cab Box has a straightforward and user friendly interface that fits on the pedalboard, it offers full configuration and eliminates complex menu options found on amps, tablets and computers. While reading about the features, it kept saying it had installed Amp sims, Cab sims and IR slots with 10 spots to load your own

the Joyo has way less headroom than its concurrent, even when the Nux is set on -10dB. It's obviously designed to work with guitar level signal chains while the Nux can handle higher input and output levels. The Nux can handle the "hot" signal of a PA feeding a cab... but I've not tried it with a master @ 6/10: if I ever do that (when live gigs will be possible again), I think that I'll put a DI box with a padded output between amp and Solid Studio. Now, for those of you feverishly flipping through your World Atlas, let me clarify: we’re talking about World of Warcraft here. Now, I'm hip. I know that's a video game. I haven't played it yet because I've played Fallout 4 for seven years, but let’s put our cards on the table: we all know this pedal is based around the Klon. And honestly? It does the Klon thing pretty dang well. I've not noticed the same thing with my own NUX and Joyo units but I've met the "high pitched noise" issue with various pedals and not only digital ones... I'm less convinced by the mic sims: they appear to be mere EQing variations and the related settings have a rather subtle effect at first glance. After seeing this IR mentioned over and over, I felt kind of dumb for not knowing WTF an IR is. so I looked it up, started reading about it, and started looking for some. of course, most of them cost money, and I was still not sure that it was even compatible with my AOU, so I did not want to pay for anything. If I put the Joyo as a cab AND PA sim between preamp and power amp, things get better... but only if I don't enable the onboard Joyo PA simulator and EQ: each stage of processing logically slowers the response of the unit. So, I've to use IR's modeling in "one shot" the PA+cabs of my tube amps, as "profiled" by the Nux (!).

Physically/ergonomically, the rotary "select" switch feels a bit flimsy and is hard to use with precision: it tends to go too far or not enough on some settings... while others take centuries to be done (any virtual rotary pot turns of 1/10 on the screen at each full rotation of the physical control under the fingers). Hi! Did you notice a high pitched noise in the NUX? I bought it yesterday and while I'm testing it I've noticed some noises, so I record all 3 outs and all of them produce this surrounding 13KHz noise tone. It is higher in amplitude in bypass, but it is with any IR on, different cabs, mics... I just plug my Epi Casino, middle position all volume and tone up and record the 3 outputs. No change with different power supplies, cables, power outlets... Seems worse with the XLR DI OUT. I then tested all my pedals and none of them produce a similar noise, only more or less noise floor. The Cab Box is my latest Impulse Response speaker and amp simulator. This is a more expensive product offering from a company that is known for budget priced pedals. The technology in the Cab Box is quite impressive and so is the performance. Finding budget pedals that are well-made, creative, and unique can be a challenge, but in this article I'm going to show you one of my favorite budget lines that are currently being produced.

The new JOYO CAB BOX is a cabinet modeling pedal, with IR loading supported. It has 4 tube power amp simulations, 20 cabinet models and 11 classic microphone models. Regarding the IR, apart from 20 preset loading locations, it also supports storing 10 third party IRs, you can connect to the PC through the USB, and use the matching software to edit tones and update firmware, load or delete third party IRs. JOYO CAB BOX has more interface, much bigger screen with more buttons compared with rival’s similar products, it’s quite user-friendly. First off, this is so much more than just a pedal because it's a cab simulator/emulator and an IR loader. This is going to be a godsend for a lot of you. A lot of guitarists can't use a real guitar amp all the time. Maybe you need to play at home. Maybe you need some way to listen through headphones or run direct out into your DAW for home recording, or you play at venues where an amp isn't allowed because it's too loud in the Front of House.
