Bought as a replacement. East to install. Much quieter than our previous pump. Works well. No problems so far. The patented technologies used in the new CT Xtra and new CT FORCE ranges, are industry leading, and give both the consumer and installer excellent performance, and are easier to install. The cold-water storage tank also feeds the hot water cylinder, where a heating coil from the boiler or immersion heater will cause the cold water to become hot. Once an outlet requiring hot water is opened, gravity will force cold water from the cold-water storage tank into the hot water cylinder, this will then force hot water out from the top of the cylinder, delivering hot water to the open outlet. I would have preferred the next bar pressure up but the extra price was too prohibitive. I went for this make because it said that it was a quiet pump. It certainly is a lot quieter than the one it replaced.
A positive head pump will activate when a minimum flow of water passes through the pump and out of the pumped outlet, such as a shower or tap, naturally (without assistance from the pump). The minimum flow rate required for our positive head pumps is 2 litres of water per minute (L/min).

Courier Delivery
The reduced noise operation emanates from the integration of an efficiently designed water way and impeller. Other improvements in the design have led to a greater flow and pressure performance, whilst the compact overall dimensions make installation a dream in tight spaces. Great little pump. Did have an initial problem, phoned Salamander and replacement pump sent same day. Customer is extremely pleased with the shower performance.
