About this deal

DC Direct fans rejoice, Batman: The Adventures Continue has arrived! At last, fans are finally able to re-immerse themselves in the iconic Batman animated world with all new action figures, carrying on a much beloved part of DC’s rich history. In related news, DC Comics recently announced sequel titles to their 2021-released Batman ’89 and Superman ’78 comic series. The titles, based on the classic live-action Tim Burton Batman and Richard Donner Superman theatrical features, follow Batman and Superman’s further adventures in the worlds established by their respective films. Continue below for cover artwork and details, provided by DC Comics.

I get to work with Paul again and Alan for the first time” he reveals. “You couldn't ask for better scripts to inspire this happy bat-artist.” As a brief side note, DC please stop trying to push your streaming services in-universe. It’s incredibly jarring and immediately takes you out of the story every time. This has actually happened in a few of the comics I’ve reviewed up until now, including this series as well as the Harley Quinn: The Animated Series spinoff books. I understand that you want to push HBO Max Max as much as possible, and these TV spinoff comics maybe aren’t seen as so important that they can’t be used as a vehicle for that sort of thing, but it doesn’t paint the product in a positive light. Recommended if…Hardware" is a one-issue (two digital issues) storyline that has a seven-story tall robot steals salvageable alien tech from Wayne Enterprises –including the remains of the computer tyrant Brainiac, which has Bruce Wayne as Batman finding himself matching wits with his counterpart's business arch-rival – Lex Luthor. The chance to return to that world, with two creative partners who were also involved in shaping it, has been a real thrill for Dini. “Ty Templeton was able to capture all the depth we were trying to go for with the characters and even then some,” Dini shares. “He brought such incredible emotion to the characters and complexity with the stories. To work with him again is a dream come true.”

Mentors" (Digital Issues 3–6, Print Issues 2-3): Mercenary Slade Wilson, known to Interpol as "Deathstroke", arrives in Gotham and seems to be making a good impression on the Bat-Family. However, he has ulterior motives for being in Gotham. Batman investigates a mysterious stalker who has been observing the Dark Knight for some time.

Aaaah, Batman The Animated Series!! Like many children, it was my gateway into the world of the Dark Knight! A show for kids that demonstrated the right amount of maturity-told it like it was-didn't gloss over how harsh and unfair the world can be. It was even educational. It gave me a glimpse of mental illness and how some people have a warp sense of justice while others simply want to watch the world burn (besides the Joker). How I've longed for a continuation of this epic series! Batman: The Adventures Continue (2020-) #14". ComiXology. Archived from the original on October 20, 2020 . Retrieved October 20, 2020. Lastly, in related news, Young Justice producer Greg Weisman’s ongoing Gargoyles series at Dynamite Comics, based on his acclaimed 1990s Gargoyles animated series, is releasing its first collected edition. Featuring the first six issues of Gargoyles, the title will be available in both hardcover and softcover collections. Details are below. The first collection of Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman’s all-new tales set in the world of his beloved animated show is finally here! Collecting issues #1-6 of the acclaimed series written by Weisman and illustrated by George Kambadias, Gargoyles: Here in Manhattan reintroduces the Manhattan Clan, a Gargoyles family newly dedicated to their mission of defending humanity in modern-day New York. But even though their commitment is strong, their bonds are about to be tested to the limit when nefarious factions from all across the world attempt to steal that rarest, most precious of possessions… an unhatched Gargoyle egg! The first half of the book is more interesting, since it features an adaptation of the Court Of Owls for the Animated Series universe, but even that feels oddly restrained, all things considered. Batman: The Adventures Continue Season One by Paul Dini, Alan Burnett: 9781779507891". Penguin Random House . Retrieved June 2, 2021. Batman: The Adventures Continue Season 3 #6 sets the pieces for the series’ final arc with just enough intrigue to make you want to know what will happen next. Ra’s and Talia are as scheming as ever as they draw you in for one last story. The logic for how everything comes together doesn’t always make the most sense, but it’s never so egregious so as to spoil the narrative. This really does feel like a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series thanks in no small part to Paul Dini and Alan Burnett, who were both integral to the show. There are a few ongoing story-lines as well as a couple of stand-alones, so it works nicely. Batman: The Adventures Continue is a DC Comics comic book series starring Batman set in the world of the DC Animated Universe. It is a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series and its follow-up The New Batman Adventures. The book is co-written by Paul Dini and Alan Burnett, producers of the original animated television series, and illustrated by Ty Templeton, who also worked on previous comics inspired by Batman: TAS. The limited series was initially released as a "digital first" comic, beginning in April 2020. [1] The first print issue, which collects the first two digital chapters, reached stores on June 10, 2020. [2] The miniseries was extended from six to seven print issues, [3] [4] and later to eight. [5] In March 2021, DC announced Season II of the series, with Issue 1 published in June 2021. [6] [7] As of June 2021, DC has planned seven issues for Season II. [8] Season III, the final season of the comic, began publication on January 10, 2023. The only thing that really lets the volume down is the final issue, an extra-sized Christmas special that does the same thing with Arnold Wesker that's been done so many times before (complete with gruesome Scarface murder). It doesn't really feel necessary, nor does it add anything to canon that we haven't already seen.

Seven chapters of the Batman: The Adventures Continue miniseries have already been released digitally and a print edition will soon follow. With the first wave of action figures now in stores as well, there has never been a more rich and exciting time to be a Batman: The Animated Series fan. At least, not since the series left the airwaves. DC Comics has released its solicitations catalogue for July 2023, which includes details on the penultimate issue of Batman: The Adventures Continue – Season Three and a massive The Batman Adventures hardcover omnibus collection. Also set for release is a second hardcover collection for the Harley Quinn: The Animated Series spin-off comic titles. Continue below for artwork and further details, all provided by DC Comics. The thing is, I liked that they skipped Jason and made Tim Drake into a combination of Jason/Tim from the comics. Tim here is a street kid, less obnoxious than Jason, but still street smart and has comic Tim's good nature. He also has his own run in with Joker leading to his end as Robin. In some ways it's a worse fate than Jason because Tim ends up being tortured and brain washed by the Joker, and ends up becoming estranged from Batman because Batman no longer trusts him. It's so god damned harsh for such a good kid.I've only recently (in the last year) finished all of Batman: The Animated Series, so it was appropriate that The Adventures Continue came out now when everything's still fresh in my mind.
