About this deal

I love this series, and now that I’ve finished it I feel like it may become a comfort re-read. (In the very very distant future when my TBR list becomes manageable - hahahahahahaha).

Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry—and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her the brutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car— supposedly by accident. Yeah, right. This series is adorable. Take a Hint Dani Brown was one of my top favorite romances of last year, and I was so excited to follow along in this series with another Brown sister!

A standalone Christmas novella published by Kobo and only available on their platform. Hollywood heartthrob Will goes home for Christmas, and is determined to win over his childhood friend, cynical divorcée Abbie. Can Eve meet the expectations of her family? Will her new path be the best one for her? And, what about Jacob? This book was not for me. At all. I am aware that this is a very unpopular opinion, since this novel has an average rating of almost 4.5 stars on Goodreads, but I ask you to please hear me out before you go get your pitchforks. Who do I think should read this book? If you loved both Chloe and Dani’s books, I believe you would also enjoy this one, although, in my view, those ones are better. Also, if you like smutty romances and a quirky protagonist, you should give it a chance. If those two don’t appeal to you and if you dislike insta-love too, then give this book a pass. Of course, the romance itself in Act Your Age, Eve Brown is is tense, and oh, so hot. There is a scene with an, ahem, very large sex toy, and PHEW. Learning what each other likes sexually is an even more intimate experience because of each of their sensory needs. This is a necessary part of how Eve and Jacob understand each other physically. As well, Jacob only wants to have sex with people he wants to spend forever with and is very clear about that, which causes some tension later on in the book.

My other problem with this book was the romance element. I think I really burned myself out reading about straight couples this month - I just wanted a gay, bi, pan character in this story with a proper storyline so I could easy my mind for a few scenes. Jacob and Eve have zero chemistry and their relationship is one of the most unrealistic ones I’ve read - it was blatant insta-love, there’s no way around it. And this is coming from the same person who read and loved Amelia Unabridged which has two characters that have known each for like a week but end up falling in love. The difference is that in that book there was a genuine, organic connection between them and they didn’t act like they knew everything about each other, as if they met a long time ago, which is what happens in Eve Brown. There are many instances of this: These are the only books by Talia Hibbert that I have read but they have all been funny and emotionally smart when dealing with some pretty heavy topics for romance reads. Enemies to Lovers books are simply everyone’s favorite kind of Romance novels! They explore a whole range of emotions and give you this feeling that “true love conquers all”. There’s just something about this fantasy that the person who keeps challenging you is secretly head over heels in love with you! Below you’ll find my … Another aspect that really bothered is how unrealistic this book is. There is NO WAY that someone in real life would accept Eve as an employee after the horrible first impression she gave in her attempt at a job interview. And more, they certainly wouldn’t do it after she HIT THEM WITH A FREAKING CAR. Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her the brutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car—supposedly by accident. Yeah, right. This place might be the start of wonderful things. It might mean stability, and Eve has her eyes on the prize. Jacob If you are an avid Science Fiction fan, I know you are always on the lookout for more of the best Sci Fi audiobooks to listen to! Below, I have for you some popular Must-Listens that really deserve the hype as well as hidden gems that I’m sure you will love. I’ve always been partial … Of course, it wouldn’t be a Brown Sisters book without the Brown Sisters (and parents, and Grandma Gigi) dynamics. Eve’s story begins with tension between her and the family, and that is a driving force in the plotline. I related so much because while I don’t have sisters, there is an expectation in my family that adulting looks a certain rigid way, and an appreciation for unconventional methods of success does not come naturally. The love that abounds amongst the Browns amplifies Eve’s fear of letting them down, but that same love allows them to see that Eve can live a fulfilling life that doesn’t need to exactly conform to a traditional path. This was the perfect installment to end the series, which holds a special place in my heart. MY CONCLUSION: HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Although I really enjoyed this final book, there were a couple of things which niggled me! Chloe and Dani disappointed me slightly, when they were interfering and judgmental, and when her family came with all that drama, it made me frown! I would've also preferred if the romance took place over a longer period of time, as it just felt to much, too soon for me personally. Also, wet glitter.. I had been warned about that scene, but I'm pretty sure that no one's vagina should dissolve into a pile of wet glitter... So I was laying awake last night, wishing I could fall asleep, when I remembered that today is release day for Talia Hibbert’s new book, Act Your Age, Eve Brown. So of course, like a rational adult with work in the morning, I instantly opened my Kindle app and proceeded to binge the whole thing until dawn. The Brown Sisters #1. A romantic comedy between a type-A web designer with fibromyalgia and the charming, tattooed handyman she hates. They are neighbours and enemies and she occasionally spies on him. Occasionally! Nevertheless, this sweet book brought me joy, and I flew through it! I have seen that there is a spin off called Untitled, and I am desperately hoping it is about the Montrose siblings! Hello there! My name is Eline, and I’m crazy about audiobooks. It’s ridiculous how much they’ve changed my daily life. I’ve always been an avid reader, but taking the step and trying out audiobooks was a real game changer for me.This was as good as everyone said it was! Binged in a day. Funny, sincere, heartfelt, and so much more. I also found the autism representation very lovely. As someone who discovered she was on the spectrum as an adult, it was very nice reading from the perspective of someone who goes through the same thing. I read this via Libby but will be getting the physical copy to add to my collection (: Another thing I dislike about most romcoms across the board, is the dual POV aspect. There is no mystery and no guessing as to what the love interest thinks of the main character, it’s all handed to the reader without nuance or further thinking. I can certainly see why people love this style, but I like to have a bit of a mental workout when I’m reading and romance doesn’t do that for me! I couldn’t care less about the love interest or his POV in this book, and mostly kept reading for Eve & her family who I absolutely adore. Will I be reading Dani’s book? Probably, but for now I think I’ll take a break from this genre so I can appreciate more in the future. This book features a drunken proposition that is gently rejected, a shared hotel room with only one bed, and a Kiss That Changes Everything.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review! This series has been such a fun time! I just love that all those sisters are so relatable and so freakin charming. Like seriously how is it possible that the three sisters are just so relatable?? Now his arm is broken, his B&B is understaffed, and the dangerously unpredictable Eve is fluttering around, trying to help. Before long, she’s infiltrated his work, his kitchen—and his spare bedroom. Jacob hates everything about it. Or rather, heshould. Sunny, chaotic Eve is his natural-born nemesis, but the longer these two enemies spend in close quarters, the more their animosity turns into something else. Like Eve, the heat between them is impossible to ignore… and it’s melting Jacob’s frosty exterior. She stops at the Castell Cottage Bed and Breakfast, noticing there are interviews for the position of a chef taking place, making the decision to apply. It would be an understatement to say that the owner of the B&B, Jacob Wayne, is not impressed with Eve, although his best friend, Eric Montrose, points out their desperate predicament, they need someone now and that Eve should be offered a trial period to see if she could work out. Before Jacob can tell her, Eve runs him over in her car, leaving him with concussion and serious injuries, such as a broken wrist. Feeling responsible, Eve is left with no choice but to help Jacob, at least until the Pemberton Ginger Festival in which the B&B is participating. To Eve's surprise, she is good at providing the guests with breakfast and afternoon teas, although learning the housekeeping aspects is more of a struggle. The initial antipathy between the rigid, rule bound, controlling Jacob and Eve melts away as they begin to see each other, only for the sexual tensions between them begin to rise to sky high levels.Short audiobooks are amazing to get you out of your reading slump or to stay entertained during a drive! But it hurts to spend an entire Audible credit on a 3-hour audiobook instead of, say, a 13 hour one. That’s why I want to share with you some fantastic novellas that are included in your … impressive. Eve rolled her eyes and mouthed, Men. Jacob, to her surprise, gave her a look of approval. “Quite.” “You don’t like men?” she whispered. “It depends. I don’t like imbalanced relationships, and men are frequently the perpetrators.” The two people work on fixing up the rooms and when they go to the storage to get more blankets and some other things, they nearly forget themselves listening to a couple of quarrels. One thing leads to another, Eve comes face to crotch with Jacob’s lower body part. And it’s huge! Tent and everything! This was a fabulous addition to an incredibly well written series. I just loved Eve and how unapologetic she was. Even though her inner voice may be telling her she was a mess, she always showed how tough she really was.
