About this deal

We sincerely hope you enjoy your Donner equipment and instruments, in case you are not 100% satisfied, we offer you a super simple exchange and return system. Before anything, it comes with all you need to start playing, as it features a great accessory bundle. First-time players get a plug-and-play style set, avoiding any extra expense and struggle to complete the set. A couple of things that are not great for beginners are the bad setup and poor quality control that can happen. 95% of these issues are really small or you can fix the issues by yourself if you watch couple Youtube tutorials, but when starting out, any extra hassle can be annoying. As mentioned before, the body type of DST-152 is Strat-style. It is a solid-body guitar with a poplar body and polyurethane body finish. Poplar is a great material for cost-effective guitars as it is lightweight and performs well acoustically.

Donner DST-152 is suited for entry-level guitarists looking for their first guitar to learn and play. With its great looks, decent performance, and sound, as well as pretty excellent price point, Donner DST-152 is, without a doubt, a great first guitar. Secondly, the body of the guitar doesn’t have shielding. This can cause especially single-coils to produce unwanted hum and buzz when there’s radio- or electromagnetic interference present. As I already mentioned, this guitar had a really low action out of the box. After making it a bit higher to get rid of the fret buzz, handling this guitar and accessing all corners of the fretboard was really easy and smooth. Strings feel like the ones from the short-scale guitar(this donner has the regular scale of 25.5”) because they were so easy to fret and bend.Donner’s rise to prominence continued in a big way with their large stand at this year’s summer NAMM, where they unveiled a whole slew of new products including some new guitars. Additionally, being a 39” full scale model, it’s definitely geared more towards older kids and adults. Versatile, well-balanced, and smooth. That’s how I would shortly describe the sound of Donner DST-152. But let’s dive a bit deeper… The body is an ST-style solid alder body which is the most common choice for Stratocasters. Fender also uses Alder often with their St-style guitars. The high gloss finish of DST-400 is also a pretty classic choice which goes well with the Stratocasters. We can see that Donner is really trying hard to produce a decent guitar. This isn’t just throwing parts together and hoping they don’t fall apart – it’s clear to see that this is a company that cares about building a brand and a customer base; the NAMM booth was a big hint about this goal.

I got approached by Donner’s staff member Brandon, and he offered to send me products to test and review for free. I was flattered, but at first, I declined. I didn’t want to become like the Youtubers who produce commercials for guitars and rarely disclaim that they got products for free or even got paid to produce content. But I started to have second thoughts… One such model was the Donner DST-400 – the flagship model in their lineup. Donner did provide us with a guitar for this review, but all thoughts and opinions of the guitar are our own. I had to admit that the crunch tones were the ones I least enjoyed with this Donner, but it doesn’t mean this axe sounds bad with crunch, it just was just not my favorite use for this guitar. But crunch tones of this axe are still really good for the price. The bag plus all the accessories that came with the guitar are great for someone just starting out on learning to play. One of the most flexible boost pedals available”: Boss’ Waza Craft BP-1W pedal puts the ‘secret weapon’ preamp sounds of the classic CE-1 and RE-201 into one compact unit

He started playing bass and guitar in 1998, and played the local scene throughout his teen years before life got in the way. Now, with the new expansion of its line of DST electric guitars, the company shows no signs of slowing down. The weight is a bit heavy for me, but this is my preference. It is not a very heavy guitar and would be okay for most of the players. However, the nut should be changed as the plastic nuts are not good in the long term. First, some of the bad stuff. The action was too low out of the box and that caused some fret buzz and a not-so-fun time playing this axe. So I had to do a little setup before the guitar was playable. But are Donner guitars like this? Or are they just cheap Chinese-made axes that don’t deserve any attention from us? Well, you’re about to discover the truth. Although it is a newcomer in the musical instruments and accessories scene, Donner is well-known for its affordable yet surprisingly high-quality gear among musicians. It offers many products with a high value-for-price ratio, making the brand favorable among musicians who are after reliable instruments and accessories for reasonable prices.
