There’s just a lot of everything, to be honest, because the Sazabi is a lot of mobile suit. It contains almost twice as much Gundam per Gundam as any other Gundam. The robot, she is quite large.

In the latest installment of a new Bit here, we’re reviewing Bandai’s gunpla, a model kit of a robot from the Gundam universe. It’s a little outside our usual coverage, and there might be some light spoilers for the anime. This week: Bandai’s Real Grade Sazabi In the show I know I keep yammering about how heavy these metal parts are, but now that it’s 95% assembled, I really can’t stress enough what a dense piece this is. The product in the image is a prototype still in its developmental stage. The product is also painted. The actual product may appear differently from the image.

Unfortunately, the water transfer decal for RG Sazabi was not released during production, so I used third part decals.

The RG Sazabi's manual begins the build at the feet and works its way up the body. Since the advanced MS joint parts that are used partially move finely, I paint with a multi-primer to prevent biting and improve the bite. Since it is an RG, it has many movable parts, and it is good that it can reproduce more human-like natural movements. It is easy to handle, so it is easy to pose, and it will flexibly respond to any poses. (During assembly, grease is applied partially to make it easier to move.) Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied decals. (Water-based topcoat is recommended due to the kit having PP parts) Not only was this kit gifted to me by a friend along with several others, and the one my 8-year-old has been most excited for because “it’s so buff,” but it represents a few firsts for me in the short time I’ve been enjoying this hobby;

The detail of the mega particle cannon in the abdomen is improved by embedding a twin pipe of hi Q parts in the center. The left and right round molds on top of that are embedded with Evolve Works negative mold metal parts. A variety of hand parts and weapons that symbolize Sazabi are included, and the various hand parts and high range of motion allow you to recreate the poses in the play, such as the two-handed pose! I'll start off by saying that the RG Sazabi doesn't feel like a Real Grade, it feels more like a 1/144 scale Master Grade. I mentioned that feeling several times during the two streams ( Part 1, Part 2) over the weekend. My reasoning is that it:Slight variations in the item's final appearance and color may occur. Some items are hand-colored, so the colors may be uneven.
