About this deal

There's so much to love here especially if you are looking for a read that will distract you temporarily from the madness going on around you and keep you guessing on just who might be lying about what in this group dynamic psychological drama Poppy Gilbert when starring in BBC1's 2021 drama Chloe. (Image credit: BBC) Who else is starring in The Catch? Another T.M. Logan addictive read, good plot, full of suspense and again I struggled to put it down. Terrified that his daughter is being drawn in by a psychopath, Ed sets out to uncover her fiancé's dark past - while keeping his own concealed. But no-one believes him. And the more he digs, the more he alienates her and the rest of the family who are convinced that Ryan is 'the one'. The Catch is led by BAFTA-winning actor Jason Watkins as Ed Collier. He’s best known for his roles in McDonald & Dodds, The Crown and The Nativity films.

Speaking about the four-part thriller, the actor said: “I’ve always loved thrillers on screen and The Catch has all the ingredients to keep audiences hooked. The author did an excellent job in keeping me on my toes, and uncertain if Ed was losing his grasp on reality or if Ryan was indeed not quite the catch everyone thought he was. This was an addictive read that I raced through. The four-part series stars Line Of Duty star Jason Watkins, and Poppy Gilbert who is known for Chloe. He lured Abbie to his favourite killing spot and turned into Ed, as in doing dumb things such as bringing a souvenir (Ed's knife) and turning away from her so she could punch him. Secrets and lies are exposed with every twist and turn but will Ed discover the truth about his daughter’s new boyfriend before it’s too late?

(Image credit: Channel 5) Interview: Jason Watkins on playing Ed Collier Julia season 2: release date, trailer, cast and everything we know about the Sarah Lancashire series In The Catch book ending Abbie finds documents that a private detective had found for Ed which include newspaper articles about Ryan’s past. It turned out he’d been lying through his teeth and had burned his family home to the ground as an 11-year-old in Canada, killing his parents and sister Stacey. His birth name was Ryan Steven Getzler and in a chapter from his perspective readers see him joyfully recall the memory of standing in the snow watching the house burn. Despite the gripping nature of The Catch, the series is NOT based on a true story. How can I watch The Catch?a b Doherty, Réiltín (13 August 2022). "The Catch on Channel 5: cast, start date and number of episodes". entertainmentdaily.co.uk. a b c d jade, kayleigh (25 January 2023). "The Catch cast revealed for new Channel 5 drama". tellymix.co.uk. Yes, they’ve lost a child, which has happened to my family, so that drew me to Ed. It does make one more protective of one’s children, and while Ed understands that he needs to let his daughter go, how can he when he’s lost one child and now he sees his daughter falling in love with someone he mistrusts?" The Catch is a new thriller coming to Channel 5, but what is it about, how many episodes are there and who’s in the cast? But when a rich, handsome younger man enters daughter Abbie’s life and threatens to take her away from him, Ed finds his life spiralling out of control.

Abbie ended his life with Ed's knife (probably a way of saying Ed defeated him from his grave or Ryan took the souvenir… but it took him).If you raced through to The Pale Blue Eye ending and loved The Holiday on Netflix last year, then there’s another atmospheric adaptation starting on January 25 which is definitely worth a watch. Like The Holiday, it's based on a T.M Logan thriller and The Catch tells the dark tale of Ed Collier whose daughter Abbie is head-over-heels for her new boyfriend Ryan. Though from the moment they first meet, Ed's not so convinced he's what he appears to be. Haunted by a secret of his own, his suspicions soon turn to obsession. The Catch book ending ties up the many twists and turns in chilling style and if you’ve yet to read it, you might be a little curious. You’ll recognise Jason Watkins for his roles as Prime Minster Harold Wilson in The Crown and as DS Dodds in McDonald and Dodds. Each character was as strong as the next. I loved Ed and at the same time I felt like he needed protecting himself. You do start questioning at around 2/3 of the way whether he actually needs professional help.
