About this deal

From the smallest Knights to one of the bigger boys – the Knight Dominus kit will now let you build the enemy-incinerating Knight Valiant or the bombarding Knight Castellan. Chaos Knights players can also construct an Imperium-destroying Knight Tyrant for the glory of the Dark Gods. War Zone Nachmund: Rift War And this really does feel like a proper crime novel – a serial killer story, to be specific – set in the 40k universe, equally enjoyable for its procedural elements and its exploration of ‘domestic 40k’. Collins continues the Warhammer Crime trend of really bringing Varangantua to life, populating his story with memorable characters and locations, and digging into classic 40k themes of faith and futility, power and inequality – in particular the vast gulf between the rich and all the rest. It all comes together into a satisfying whole that really elevates this still-developing range, continuing to add texture and detail to Varangantua as a setting while delivering the most confident and effective crime story yet. It’s an assured debut, and a hugely impressive one to boot. If you haven’t already got Collins on your radar, this will comfortably illustrate why you really should. Eater of Worlds will also be available in audiobook format in case you’re simply too berzerk to hold a novel. The Triumph of Saint Katherine Despite possessing a ruthless streak a mile wide and a burning hatred towards Gaunt, who he blames for abandoning Tanith to its destruction, Elim Rawne is nonetheless a highly capable commander and leads the regiment’s third platoon. An expert with a blade, Rawne’s handsome face hides a murderous glint in his eyes, and he always keeps his razor-sharp Tanith warknife to hand. Master Sniper Hlaine Larkin But while the calamity means death and destitution for many, others take advantage of the chaos to gain wealth or position within the city’s byzantine hierarchies. With Varangantua’s place in the wider Imperium at stake, will the truth about the disaster come to light, or will it be buried in the rubble along with thousands of bodies?

Grim Repast | Book by Marc Collins | Official Publisher Page

You can feel the weight of the setting, alongside the care and thought that’s been put into every aspect of the ongoing campaign. We have to take a moment to thank Dan for creating such an enduring and memorable cast of characters that mean so much to so many fans of Warhammer 40,000. Four Platoon is the regiment’s scout platoon, led by Oan Mkoll. However, unlike more traditional regimental organisations, the scouts of Four Platoon are often spread out among the other Tanith platoons to serve as specialists. Mkoll is among the very best, having long mastered his craft amid the shifting woods of his former homeworld. At least, that is, until Baggit learns of a score that could pay their debts and save their skins – the Wraithbone Phoenix, a fabled treasure rumoured to be hidden aboard a voidship recently scheduled for decommission. But Baggit and Clodde aren’t the only ones with eyes on the prize. When word gets out, every thief in the Dredge is going to be gunning for the Phoenix. Does Baggit have the cunning to find the treasure and get out alive, or will someone finally cash in the bounty on his head?An interesting addition to the steadily growing Warhammer Crime imprint, this is a horror novel framed in the conventions of a hardboiled detective story, deeply interwoven with the fabric of the setting's lore. Guy Haley: This year has been a busy one. I’ve been deeply involved with Warhammer 40,000’s ongoing narrative, with Dawn of Fire powering on, but the big noise for 2021 has to be Godblight , the concluding part of the Dark Imperium trilogy. I know loads of you were waiting for the finale, and I was glad to provide it. Rewriting the first two novels a bit to tie them deeper into the current story was also really rewarding. The Plague Wars might be over, but Guillman’s work is far from done… Darius Hinks: I’ve always loved writing Warhammer Age of Sigmar stories, but Dominion was a high point. The Mortal Realms have grown stranger, more detailed, and more dangerous with every incarnation and, in this novel, I had a chance to describe characters who are not only trying to survive, but launching an epic crusade right into the heart of the madness.

Impurities and Against the Grain are noticeably longer than the others, with the latter almost reaching novella length. This explosive novel brings us fully into the Era of the Beast, where Kragnos has rallied the forces of destruction in Ghur, and a new type of Stormcast Eternal is unleashed upon the Mortal Realms. As more bodies are discovered, Drask finds himself chasing after a deadly killer who murders and dismembers without compunction and who has a sudden obsession with tormenting Drask. Forced to play a deadly game that uncovers the corruption of his own organisation and sets him against the city’s elite, Drask finds himself alone and afraid against an enemy he doesn’t understand. Only his twisted insights into the criminal mind, as well as the lessons of his career and devious dead mentor, offer the answers that he needs to solve the case and stop the killer. However, not even Drask’s dark mind can comprehend the true horrors that lie beneath his city, one that connects to Varangantua’s past and a dangerous hunger that has always controlled people like him. Connections: to learn more about Melita Voronova I would suggest reading the short stories Service (in Sanction & Sin) and Chains (e-short/available in Once a Killer) first, before reading The King of the Spoil. For more about the Spoil and one of the secondary characters in The King of the Spoil, you could also read Old Instincts (in Broken City). As street-blades clash and gang leaders turn against one another, Melita’s instincts tell her there is a larger conspiracy at work. Someone has created this crisis not merely to disrupt the Spoil, but to overturn the foundations of Varangantua itself. Quillon Drask is a haunted man, wrestling with the daemons of his past. With a reputation that draws only the strangest cases, he is intimately familiar with the malevolent underbelly of Varangantua. Yet nothing that has gone before could have prepared the probator for the horrors which now blight the district of Polaris. Faced with a savage crime with frightening implications, Drask is thrust into a game of corruption and conspiracy, warring families, and blasphemous revelations. Only by mastering the bitter lessons of his career and his own tortured insight can Drask hope to bring the perpetrators to justice, and curb the monstrous hunger which stalks the city. Chris Wraight: Writing Warhawk was a real challenge, as I was trying to combine all the lore (both old and new) from the Siege of Terra series with a proper conclusion to the White Scars story arc in the Heresy. It was the most complex project I think I’ve ever taken on, but also, thanks to the amazing people I was working with, one of the most satisfying and exciting. Quillon Drask: Quillon possesses a 'gift', one that lets him place himself into the minds of the most demented of individuals. It gives him a morbid edge when pursuing and solving heinous crimes, a gift molded under the tutelage of his mentor Alexius: a mentor who he was forced to kill, after he almost murdered Quillon. Quillon drowns in his past, bearing the trauma of Alexius as he struggles to stay afloat in a city that pulls good men under. A detective through and through, Quillon takes on the worst cases out of moral duty, to hold its perpetrators to account. His sanity is the cost however, as despite choking down his own vomit, he cannot bare to look away from what he sees, and will come to see.
