Description

Get faster app performance for an outstanding smartphone experience thanks to the SanDisk Extreme® microSD card’s A2 Specification. On top of this, most cards now have a “V” (for video) rating, going from V6 all the way to V90, indicating write speeds of 6MB/sec to 90MB/sec. You need a V30 card to shoot 4K video at speeds of 60 to 120 frames per second, while V60 is the base level for shooting 8K video at 60fps. V90 is theoretically capable of handling 8K video at up to 120fps. However, given that only a handful of professional-grade cameras can offer that, and that they tend to use the larger CFexpress 2.0 cards for storage, this isn’t what you might call a must-have. One final thing we need to make clear is that speeds will depend on your microSD card reader. The reader built into your average laptop might not be capable of reading from or writing to the fastest cards at their full speed, and we’ve found huge variations in external readers, even those bundled with high-performance cards. If you’re investing in one of the faster microSD cards, grab the matching adaptor from the same manufacturer, or from a credible manufacturer like Lexar, SanDisk, Kingston or Integral. That goes double for UHS-II cards. What if I’m buying for an action camera or dashcam?

Class 1 (A1) Application Performance Class also called SD Physical 5.1 spec, with a write speed of 10Mbytes/sec and minimum random read of 1500 IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) and random write of 500 IOPS. IOPS is used because it’s a useful way of measuring the speed of the kind of computing operations that applications undertake, as opposed to simply reading or writing a large file. For 256GB-1TB: Up to 190MB/s read speeds, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, requires compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds. Up to 130MB/s write speeds. For 128GB: Up to 190MB/s read speeds, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, requires compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds. Up to 90MB/s write speeds. For 64GB: Up to 170MB/s read speeds, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, requires compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds. Up to 80MB/s write speeds. For 32GB: Up to 100MB/s read speeds; up to 60MB/s write speeds. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device interface, usage conditions, and other factors. 1MB=1,000,000 bytes. Secure Digital eXtended Capacity. Announced in 2009 this was version 3 of the SD specification, adopting exFAT file system and extending the theoretical storage limit to 2TB.SanDisk's own readers. Their maximum speed is closer to 99MB/s when used in other card readers, including older SanDisk readers. The card's A2 performance rating indicates the For 64GB-1TB: A2 performance is 4000 read IOPS, 2000 write IOPS. For 32GB: A1 performance is 1500 read IOPS, 500 write IOPS. Results may vary based on host device, app type, and other factors. Custom made and designed products such as flash memory products with custom logo’s on them. Durable Design for Use in Extreme Environments. The card Video Speed Class V30 performance designation means this card can sustain at least 30MB/s continuous write speed which makes it idea for 4K video recording.

card can perform at least 4,000 random read and 2,000 random write operations per second. This rating means the card is well suited for in smartphones, tablets and mobile devices. Performance of the Extreme 160MB/s A2 256GB microSD card was tested using card readers. The benchmark tests show that the card surpasses its quoted speed in the SanDiskOften, fast sequential speeds come at the expense of random read/write speeds, but the A2-class 1066x is an exception; it’s not as speedy as the Integral Ultima Pro Professional High-Speed card below, but it’s faster than the SanDisk Extreme Pro and Samsung Evo Plus on this count, making it a fine all-round performer. If you’re looking for a card that can run apps or cover video on your mid-range or high-end smartphone, you won’t get much better than this. Get faster app performance for an outstanding smartphone experience thanks to the SanDisk Extreme ® micro SDXC card’s A2 Specification. Durable design for use in extreme environments Get extreme speeds for fast transfer, app performance, and 4K UHD. Ideal for your Android smartphone, action cameras or drones, this high-performance microSD card does 4K UHD video recording, Full HD video and high-resolution photos. The super-fast SanDisk Extreme microSDXC memory card reads up to 160MB/s and writes up to 90MB/s. Plus, it’s A2-rated, so you can get fast application performance for an exceptional smartphone experience. Save Time Transferring Content. As for the other tests, dropping the card countless times from about 1.5m onto a hard and soft surface had little if any effect. To be on the safe side, I dropped it from a height of 4m on to the patio, and the card still works fine. I would imaging that due to the small size and weight dropping the card is going to do little, especially when housed inside a drone or action camera. The SanDisk Extreme Pro 256GB takes on the compact MicroSD form factor which has been designed to be used in portable devices such as mobile phones and action cameras.
