The arm smokestacks do have hooks that slot into the leg smokestacks to lock them into vehicle mode but they are small and fragile making them very easy to break, however transformation is still completely possible and looks good even after these hooks break. It can be harrowing if you’re a stickler for detail that needs to get them on perfectly straight, and since they’re foil labels, they don’t easily come back off after application. As a blocky 80s toy, it’s not as much of a sleek wedge as the animation model, but that’s part of the charm. Vehicle mode is very nice looking and next to no kibble hanging out, even looking at the bottom of the vehicle mode is nice as the only real section that is very easy to see is the hands. In the The Depths of Unicron scene from The Transformers: The Movie, Hot Rod embraces his destiny, becoming Rodimus Prime and defeating Unicron. The car mode is just awesome and the robot mode has many features including putting on sunglasses or whatever they are and he has a buzz saw as well.The main colorscheme is a deep, burgundy red, at odds with the somewhere-between-magenta-and-pink coloration in Transformers: The Movie.

The only bit of hollowness, unfortunately, is in the midsection, which has a big hole in it when viewed from the side.I didn't know until I got this that it had the visor that goes over his eyes when he sees the Decepticons in the movie I was not expecting that little feature. Robot and alt modes are both spot-on (with the exception of his "collar", which should be red, but would probably be a nightmare for production).
